1:35 AM is a third volume from the anthological Fazbear Frights book series of the franchise. Written by Andrea Waggener and Elley Cooper with Scott Cawthon, it was published on May 5, 2020.
Before its official release, the book was released in Australian stores on May 4, 2020.

Plot[]
1:35 A.M.[]
Delilah wakes up at 6:25 am, missing her six to two shift at the diner. Ever since her divorce with her ex-husband, Howard, Delilah has been living in a funk. On this day, she passed a house having a garage sale. While browsing, she finds a brown curly haired, pink cheeked, dark eyed mechanical doll named Ella, a doll that looked a lot like the child that Delilah had always wanted. Ella had many features, but the only one that worked was the alarm clock. After purchasing Ella, Delilah was relieved that she could finally get some sleep. At her apartment, she set Ella to 1:35 pm, and took a nap.
Delilah woke up to the sound of her ringing phone. Looking over, she saw that it was 2:25 pm. Disappointed that Ella didn't work, she threw her away in a dumpster. After her shift, she returned to her apartment to sleep soundly. At 1:35 am, she heard a whispering sound coming from her window that woke her up.
Delilah had told her best friend, Harper, about this. Harper and Delilah had been best friends ever since they were in the same foster care. Harper told Delilah that she shouldn't have thrown away Ella. Things afterwards started to look up for Delilah later that day.
Then, she heard that same sound again at 1:35 am. She realized that it was Ella, and that she hadn't set her alarm off. Annoyed she wasn't going to get any sleep, Delilah decides to go find Ella. She went over to the dumpsters where she threw Ella away. She looked into the middle dumpster, but only found garbage. No signs of Ella. She then checked the dumpster left of her, to see if Ella was in there. She wasn't, but she did find a bunch of books over a pile of stuffed garbage bags. She noticed a suspicious red stain on one of them. She took no more notice of it. The last dumpster didn't have Ella in it either.
The next night she woke up again at 1:35 am. She swore she could her a tapping sound from her window. She thought about finding Ella again, but then decided to let the city garbage truck take care of the problem. She woke up at 1:35 am the next night. Paranoid, Delilah went back to the dumpsters to check for Ella. As she rummaged through them, she didn't find Ella.
Delilah decided to go over to the house where the garage sale had been. But when she got there, there was no one there. She even went inside the house to see if anyone was there. But she found no one. She then decided to try to research the doll on the Internet. She found out that the Ella doll had been discontinued for reasons unknown. She tried to find more, but hit more dead ends.
Three more times had Delilah been woken up at 1:35 am. She could feel the presence of the doll, it's eyes staring into her soul. She could hear a sound coming from her closet, but there was nothing there. She could hear a rapping sound from under the floor, but it stopped, this went on and on. Delilah felt tortured.
Every single night, Delilah wakes up at 1:35 am, only to hear strange noises and sensations. She was starting to lose her mind. She tried to move to different places of her house, but she couldn't escape. So she decided to switch to night shift at her diner job in hopes it could end the madness. It didn't. Every night at the diner at 1:35 am, she could actually see Ella. It became so much worse that she got fired.
She then stayed over with Harper's theater troupe, but she couldn't escape Ella. She left Harper's theater troupe, got into her car, and drove to a motel, but even there she couldn't escape from Ella. She could still hear her coming for her. Delilah then left the motel, got into her car and drove as far away as she could. But should could still sense Ella's presence, as the sound of her car unlocked and unlatched. She parked near a river and ran as far as she could to a factory. This was a sign of terror and dread that she never felt before. She needed to hide. Crawling through a drainage pipe, she ended up in an abandoned construction site where she found a vent opening. She crawled through it into the chute like space. As she moved more, she got stuck. But she relaxed, because no one, not even Ella, could ever find her.
Room for One More[]
Stanley is a night guard at a sketchy underground facility. He hates his job but continues to work there because he needs the money. One day, he finds a Minireena suddenly appear on his desk. He finds it cute, but he is also confused about how it got there and falls asleep. When he wakes up, the doll is gone. Later that night, he feels an odd pain in his throat and left arm before going to bed. Over the next few days, the pain gets worse. Both of his arms swell, his throat bleeds, and he loses his appetite. Though he is reluctant at first, his family convinces him to go to a doctor if he does not get better soon.
In a side-plot throughout the book, Stanley has three nightmares at his workplace. In the first one, he gets a cab, only to find the driver is Funtime Foxy. In the second, the facilities power cuts and he encounters Funtime Freddy while trying to find the light. In the third, he is strapped to a dentist chair, with Ballora as a nurse. After he wakes from the third nightmare, he finds a one armed Minireena attempting to crawl into his mouth, causing him to realize that his illness has been because they crawl inside him while he sleeps on the job. He tries to rush to a hospital but collapses before he can leave the building. He sees the one armed Minireena and screams, allowing it to enter his body.
The New Kid[]
Devon and Mick, a pair of lonely kids with few other friends, quickly become friends with the new kid at school, Kelsey after the abandoned gas station they used to hang out in is demolished. Though the friendship goes well at first, Devon gets mad at Kelsey for what Devon perceives as Kelsey getting with his crush. Kelsey suggests to Devon that he look for cool abandoned places for them to hang out in. Wanting revenge, Devon decides to harmlessly scare Kelsey by luring him to an abandoned Freddy’s that he found and leaving him in an old Golden Freddy suit for a few hours.
The prank horribly backfires when the springlocks activate and kill Kelsey. A few days later, Devon decides to return to the pizzeria to try and find Kelsey, telling Mick to cover for him. Once at the pizzeria, he looks inside the suit but finds Kelsey has mysteriously vanished. He eventually sticks his hand inside the suit’s mouth to feel around, only for the springlocks to fail and crush his arm. Now bleeding out, Devon finally gets a good look inside the suit, finding a corpse that isn’t Kelsey’s. The last thing Devon sees before dying is the corpse’s black, curly hair. The story ends with Mick continuing to cover for Devon (unaware that he died) as well as a strange sequence where Kelsey, alive and well, introduces himself as a new kid at the school, and asks a couple local kids if they know any cool places to hang out.
Epilogue[]
Detective Larson, sulking in regret over not being there for his family, is contacted by the police department, stating that the Stitchwraith has been found at the site of a mysterious fire. Larson notes that this is the second time it's been spotted there.
This section is a flashback. Phineas Taggart, a retired scientist who formerly worked at Evergreen Laboratories, now studies the power of human emotions. He hypothesizes how emotions are more powerful than any sort of physical matter, and can have a direct impact on inanimate objects depending on what emotion is thrown at them, thus explaining the concept of "haunted objects." He was particularly focused on agony, the emotion he considered the most powerful of them all. This is believed to be an expansion on the concept of remnant powering animatronics, along with other inanimate items.
During one of his experiments, Phineas inserted the battery pack of Fetch, a robot dog, into the animatronic endoskeleton. He also puts the head of the Simon doll onto the head of the endoskeleton. Finally, he used the agony absorbed from a paper plate, a mirror that "witnessed" a man murder his entire family and a jack-in-the-box, transferring it into the robotic body. Once the agonized endoskeleton began to move, its metal fingers attempted to touch Phineas. Its battery started to glow red, and Phineas sensed danger and tried to create a mental shield. He died, feeling excruciating pain and his consciousness annihilated.
Phineas' eyeless, mummified corpse was later discovered by Ruben, who was worried since Phineas never missed a meal at his truck. He called the police, who investigated, and stated that they suspected some sort of electrical discharge that killed Phineas. Some of his belongings are eventually packed up, including the endoskeleton. The mysterious being awakens, putting on an old trench coat as the truck drives away.

- This story features Ella, a returning character from the original novel trilogy. However, in this story, Ella is the main antagonist, she also returns in the epilogues, although she is decommissioned.
- This is the fourth story to be featured in the epilogues, the others being To Be Beautiful, Out of Stock, and Fetch.
Room for One More[]
- In this story, Stanley seems to represent Michael Afton from Sister Location, whereas, in Sister Location, it is shown that Ennard went inside of Michael to escape the underground facility, the same thing the Minireenas were trying to do with Stanley.
- Stanley's brother-in-law, Todd, mentions the Snack Space, the same fast food place featured in Into the Pit, where Oswald's father works.
The New Kid[]
- This is the first story to:
- Have a twist ending, with a shocking reveal that remains unanswered.
- Have an animatronic be present, but not be the antagonist, at least not intentionally.
- Have the human characters get themselves killed, rather than there be an animatronic try to kill them/trick them into making a mistake that causes their death.
- Depending on how you interpret the story and its characters, Devon and Kelsey could be considered antagonists.
- Devon saw a body with curly black hair in the Golden Freddy suit as he was about to die. In "The Man in Room 1280", the spirit within the Room 1280 Patient created a physical manifestation of themselves to torment the nurses that tried to kill him. It had curly black hair and an alligator mask. This detail made fans believe that Kelsey is another manifestation of Andrew.
- Although, there is some evidence that conflicts with the theory. Kelsey claims to have parents, bleeds when he's inside the Golden Freddy suit and, if he was a physical manifestation of a spirit, he is somehow walking about in the outside world. Not to mention, his motivation for targeting bullies is unknown, nor how he came back to life after dying.
- Due to Kelsey claiming he has parents and is able to bleed, and if he indeed is a manifestation of Andrew's spirit, this could mean that Andrew is referring to his parents when he was alive. Whereas for bleeding it seems to be happening because of agony or some other supernatural force, where Andrew is able to interact with the real world.
- Although, there is some evidence that conflicts with the theory. Kelsey claims to have parents, bleeds when he's inside the Golden Freddy suit and, if he was a physical manifestation of a spirit, he is somehow walking about in the outside world.
